In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Holly Hill; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Florida are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 11 AM–10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach China House Restaurant at (386) 615-3993; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, heroonlineorder.com.

New to the area and it’s our go to spot for great homemade Chinese food with large servings. Chicken with mixed vegetables has 8 or more different fresh vegetable options mixed together (pictured). Bourbon chicken lo mein is a family favorite (pictured).

After freshening up at the hotel, I was starving. Since I wasn't familiar to the Ormond Beach area, I did a Yelp search for restaurants near me. I browsed through the list and decided to try China House. It was a little over a seven mile drive to the Chinese restaurant located within a plaza in Holly Hill. Upon entering, I greeted a female employee behind the counter and placed an order for a pint of house special lo mein and an egg roll. The food was prepared really quickly and it was well-cooked. The egg roll was fried nicely and filled with tender vegetables. I added some duck sauce for flavor. The lo mein was a mixture of tender pieces of chicken roast pork, and shrimp, tossed with soft noodles and crunchy vegetables. It may look like a small amount of food, but it was filling. I have leftovers for the next day.

Ordered the Singapore rice noodles and beef lo main. The amount of food for the price is really impressive. The flavor were delicious. This will be my wife and Is take out spot when we're on the area!

This is more of a traditional style Chinese food place. Not the fast food Chinese place, many are used to. Preparations are done somewhat differently. Combination plate with an entrée, fried rice & egg roll. The rice tastes fine. The boneless spare ribs were better than we thought. Came with an egg roll that was pretty good. Portion size was good & plenty. They have a seating area inside. No restroom is available. Medium size parking lot. No handicap parking spots up front. The 14 or 15 year old girl working the counter would need some lessons in customer service & patience.
